In some cases, ESET Nod32 Anti-Virus and Smart Security can block Simplify Media without any warning to the user. The result is that you will see a "scanning" or "initalizing" or "connecting" message. To change this:
-Open the main program window by clicking the
icon in the Windows system tray or by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
-Press the F5 key to display the Advanced Setup window.
-From Threats and exclusions, pick Trusted Zone
-From the Advanced Setup tree, click Antivirus and antispyware → Web access protection → HTTP → Web browsers.
-Click the check box next to C:\Program Files\Simplify Media\Simplify Media.exe until you see a red "X". Repeat for C:\Program Files\Simplify Media\Simplify Media.exe. (If you have a recent version of Simplify Media, build 1077 or higher, only SimplifyMedia.exe needs to be in the Application list.)
-Click OK to save changes.
This screen shot shows all of these windows open.
